Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information Scrap My Caravan (scrapmycaravan.uk) collects when you use this website or ask us to collect a caravan, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect the minimum we need to quote for and carry out caravan collection and disposal.
Who we are
Scrap My Caravan provides caravan scrapping, dismantling and disposal across the UK. You can contact us about anything in this policy on 07758 153074, seven days a week.
What we collect
When you request a quote we collect the details you give us: your name, phone number, the caravan's location (town or postcode), photos of the caravan, and anything you tell us about its condition or access. If you email or call us, we keep the correspondence.
Our website also collects limited technical data automatically — IP address, device and browser type, and how you move through the site — through the analytics services below.
How we use your information
- To prepare your quote and, if you accept it, to arrange and carry out collection — this is performance of a contract with you.
- To keep records of completed collections, including transfer-of-waste paperwork we are legally required to hold.
- To improve the website and measure our advertising, based on our legitimate interest in running the business efficiently.
- To respond when you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing lists.
Services we use
The following providers process limited data on our behalf when you use the site:
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage statistics.
- Hotjar — anonymised session recordings and heatmaps so we can see where the site confuses people.
- Google Ads and Meta — conversion measurement when you arrive from one of our adverts.
- Google Places — the address suggestions in our quote form.
- Vimeo — the background video on some pages, loaded only after you interact with the page.
Each provider only receives what it needs to perform its function, and each is bound by its own published privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Quote enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted within 12 months. Records of completed collections, including waste-transfer documentation, are kept for the periods environmental law requires, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it where we have no legal duty to keep it. Call 07758 153074 or use the contact page. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
